Contemporary Issues in Education and Society: Project-Based Learning in Theatre Pedagogy

This seminar introduces students to curriculum development and teaching strategies for secondary and postsecondary theatre studies classes. Through a blend of skills-based and theoretical readings, this course seeks to prepare students to teach theatre with a critically reflective, equity-minded, and project-based pedagogy. Students will prepare a teaching portfolio with a sample syllabus, sample lesson plans and assignments, and a statement of teaching philosophy.
