Dance curriculum in middle and secondary schools--methods of instruction and assessment in teaching dance. Introduction to the unique position of the role of dance in public education, and the dance teacher's role as diplomat and arts advocate. Designing dance curriculum including artist residencies and master classes, assessment, and lessons based on national and state standards and sound dance education principles. Credit may be applied toward the education major and potentially toward state certification. This course is fully online. Students enrolled in day classes at Washington University should review the policies of their home division on credit earned for online courses.
