AUDITIONS FOR ADVANCED AMERICAN MUSICAL THEATRE

THE TITLE OF THIS COURSE IS -- TOPICS IN THEATRE: ADVANCED AMERICAN MUSICAL THEATRE (DRAMA 372)

PREREQUISITE: The American Musical Theater Songbook (formerly Intro to American Musical Theater) 
    If you have not taken this course, you may still audition if you are a sophomore, junior or senior. 
    
    YOU MAY ONLY GAIN ADMITTANCE BY AUDITION AND PERMISSION OF THE INSTRUCTORS.  IF YOU DECIDE TO AUDITION, PLEASE LEAVE ROOM IN YOUR SCHEDULE FOR THIS COURSE THAT MEETS:
       Tuesday/Thursday, 1:00-3:00pm in Olin I
        This course will be taught IN PERSON ONLY. 

Auditions will be by video submission: 

•    Select an entire song or at least one verse and chorus from a musical of your choice; please do not select music from film only musicals. 

•    Find a backing or accompaniment track onYouTube by entering the name of your selection and the word backing track, accompaniment, karaoke

•    Sing your song recording audio and video on your laptop and phone, the accompaniment should come from the same source that you are recording onto. Check the balance of your accompaniment to your voice so the levels are good. 

•    Email Mary Clemens (mclemens@wustl.edu) for access to the WU Box folder to which you should upload your video audition.   Please use the SUBJECT:  Audition Access for Advanced American Musical Theatre.
