2019 Globe Cohort on Stage

Globe Summer Program Information Meeting

Learn about our three-week summer program in London at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

Our three-week summer program will run from July 10th - 28th, 2023 in London at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and will be led by William Whitaker, Professor of Practice-Drama and Dr. Claire Sommers, Lecturer, Department of English.  This is a superb experience where students take master classes in acting, voice, movement, text study, and stage combat with Globe Education faculty and leading members of the British theater – including (hopefully) Tony Award winner and Royal Shakespeare Company actress Jane Lapotaire.  While you are there, not only will you see performances at the Globe, but you will also have opportunities to rehearse and perform on the GLOBE STAGE itself!

This is not a “specialist” program for seasoned actors and scholars of Shakespeare, but it is an ideal course for interested students who want to learn more about Shakespeare in a singularly dynamic environment. Washington University has the longest-running summer program at the Globe, and consequently over the years we have cultivated remarkable relationships with Globe educators that provide our students with special opportunities to work and meet with world class professionals.

Come to the meeting and get all the details about costs, credits, housing, performances – as well as answers to questions you might have.

If you can’t join us for the meeting but want to know more, please contact Bill Whitaker at whitaker@wustl.edu or reach out to Dr. Claire Sommers at claire.sommers@wustl.edu.
