Alum Sigi Gradwohl, LA '09 plays Leah in Mark Harelik's "The Immigrant"

The production ran April 20 - May 26, 2018 at the Sierra Madre Playhouse, California

Sigi Gradwohl on her role as Leah in The Immigrant

As an immigrant myself, I was drawn to this piece to share the story of my ancestors.  I delved into the acting challenges of learning Yiddish, a Russian accent and aging from 16 to 49.  But what has truly inspired me is the countless number of audience members who have approached us post-show to tell us that this, too, is their story.  I have realized that this timely piece continues to be especially relevant today and deeply resonates with those from all corners of the world.  I hope you'll join our journey towards honoring our heritage -- no matter your roots.

Sigi graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009 with a double major in Psychology and Drama.
