Andrea Urice directs WashU students Alex Knapp and Carly Rosenbaum in "Grant and Twain"

Each year two WU students are invited to be part of a 7-member, Equity staged reading at the U.S. Grant National Historic Park in St Louis. Andrea Urice, Teaching Professor of Drama is the director. This year Alex Knapp a graduate student in Theatre and Performance Studies and Carly Rosenbaum a senior drama major, were chosen to participate.  The reading is of a play titled Grant & Twain written by NYU dramatic writing professor emeritus Elizabeth Diggs.

The full-length play, Grant & Twain, explores Grant's efforts to write his military memoirs while fighting terminal cancer.  His friend, Mark Twain, was determined to help Grant publish the book despite obstacles and threats of betrayal close to home.
