On March 11, Washington University in St. Louis announced that spring semester classes would continue on-line after an extended spring break. Students will continue their studies from home until at least April 30. We are proud to be part of the worldwide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. One consequence of this action is that most of the rest of our 2019-20 dance and drama season and other sponsored events cannot continue. The final weekend of Black Rep's Spell #7 is canceled, Triumph of Love, a PAD co-production, is canceled, Ironbound is canceled, and Wash U Dance Collective 2020 is canceled. Our MFA Student Dance Concert: Mindscapes, is postponed until next season. Stephanie Batiste's colloquium event Blue Gold & Butterflies- A Performance Lecture is canceled.
PAD would like to acknowledge the work that has gone into these events. An immense amount of creative work by faculty, staff, and students, as well as affiliated professional artists, cannot be shown. We are proud of this work, and regret the loss, even as we fully support the measures the University is adopting.
