Sophie Capobianco (MA ‘24) has been named the 2024 winner of The Drama Review’s Student Essay Contest. Now a PhD student at UCLA, Capobianco earned a master’s in theater and performance studies at Washington University. Capobianco’s submitted essay was a revised version of their master’s essay: "Utopia in D Yard: Prefigurative Politics and the Attica Uprising of 1971."
