Zachariah Ezer, assistant professor of performing arts, has been awarded the 2025 Visionary Playwright Award from Theater Masters. Founded by Julia Hansen in 2001, Theater Masters is dedicated to nurturing, developing, and producing the work of the next generation of American playwrights on a national scale.
Awarded to two playwrights each year, recipients of this prestigious award are given a pass to participate in the Aspen Ideas Festival and a full-length play commission. Further support is given to develop the play for production by either a developmental workshop and reading of the playwrights Visionary Play or Theater Masters connecting playwrights with a theater able to so.
