Washington University Dance Theatre presents "PastForward"
November 30 & December 1 at 8 p.m.
December 2 at 2 p.m.
In the early 20th-century, the concept of “Art” made a radical shift that today remains at the core of the artistic spirit. This shift was not just a change of content, but of form, process and perceptual outlook. Painters, composers and choreographers leapt from being craftsmen to pioneers, from technicians to experimental intellectuals at the vanguard of their medium and contemporary culture. Today artists are innovators, activists and community builders working at the leading edge of their craft. Join the dance artists of the Performing Arts Department for an evening of choreography that aims to build on our avant-garde past and continue to push the leading edge forward.
This annual showcase features diverse work by resident and guest choreographers, performed by select student dancers of the Performing Arts Department.
