We want to congratulate all of the members of our PAD faculty and staff for their incredible contributions to live theater in St. Louis. This year's winners of the St. Louis Theatre Circle Awards were announced, Monday, April 3rd. We want to extend our best wishes to all everyone.
Anna Pileggi's production of A Little Night Music at Union Avenue Opera won for Outstanding Production of an Opera. 2nd-Year Graduate Student in Theatre and Performance Studies Natasha Cole served as Assistant Director.
The Black Rep won multiple awards including Ron Himes, for Outstanding Director for Behind the Sheet, and who was part of the Outstanding Ensemble for Jitney, and for Outstanding Production of a Drama for both Behind the Sheet and Jitney (plus 3 other awards)
Michael James Reed (U College instructor, "Acting for the Camera") received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Male/Non-Binary Performer in a Drama for Proof with Moonstone Theatre Company.
Sean Savoie received two nominations for Outstanding Lighting Design in a Musical for A Chorus Line and In the Heights, both at Stages St. Louis.
Andrea Urice's production of Hand to God at St. Louis Actors' Studio received three nominations: Outstanding Male/Non-Binary Performer in a Comedy, Outstanding Female/Non-Binary Performer in a Comedy and Outstanding Supporting Male/Non-Binary Performer in a Comedy.
In addition, two WashU/PAD alums received outstanding actor nominations: Chauncy Thomas '06 for Much Ado About Nothing and Mitch-Henry Eagles '13 for Hand to God.
Bess Moynihan, Edison Theatre Operations Manager won the award for Outstanding Set Design in a Play for Rodney's Wife, and longtime friend of the PAD Joan Lipkin was honored with a Special Lifetime Achievement Award.
